This verse shows that even Jesus’ opponents relied on verifiable facts, not blind assumptions. By posting guards and securing the tomb, they unintentionally eliminated alternative explanations for the resurrection (theft, deception, mistake).

In other words, the authorities themselves helped create the historical evidence that supports the resurrection, showing that Christian faith is grounded in facts, not wishful thinking.
